A few things may happen in the world of blogging in the next 5-10 years. Blogging is already being incorporated to a small number of social media websites, one example is Pinterest. I think in the future the more popular social media networks, such as Facebook and Twitter will incorporate blogging into their social networks, and be able to share it to different users.
I also feel that there will be more jobs related to creating professional blogs for major corporations, in order to influence consumers about certain brands or products.
I also believe that scholars, academics, and authors will soon use blogs to divulge research or information about certain topics online through academic databases. Students will probably be able to reference work from these blogs to create their own work. Blogs are more visually appealing, and most often are better organized than traditional academic literature.
